Fall/Winter 2011 New Faces Josephine Skriver

Danish newcomer Josephine Skriver has had a Fall/Winter 2011 season that can only be described as impeccable. Seventeen year old Skriver captured the attention of casting director Russell Marsh at the pre-show castings and consequently walked in only the most prestigious of shows  including Calvin Klein, Prada, Gucci, Preen, Carlos Miele, Phillip Lim, Ruffian, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sportmax, Etro and Just Cavalli. Represented by Marilyn Model Management in New York, Skriver stands at 177 cm in height and has cobalt blue eyes, flawless skin and a pillowy pout. Skriver is one of the most exciting modelling prospects that I have seen in recent times. Blessed with angelic features, Skriver has the kind of natural, healthy looks and glow that the industry has been yearning for. When I look at Skriver, I get the same feeling that I got when I first laid eyes on Natalia Vodianova, Karolina Kurkova and Liya Kebede. Mark my word, this girl is going to be Major!

Fall/Winter 2011 New Faces Marique Schimmel

Dutch model Marique Schimmel continues the dominance of models from the Netherlands at the Fall/Winter 2011 collections. Represented by Supreme in New York, Schimmel has strong features and a tomboyish charm that is in keeping with modelling's current preoccupation with androgyny. Represented by Supreme Model Management in New York, Schimmel stands at 178 cm in height and has an athletic, robust physique. Schimmel has emerged as the darling of the Fall/Winter 2011 shows, walking for a roster of blue chip clients including Proenza Schouler, Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, VPL, Richard Nicoll, Roberto Cavalli, D'Squared, Missoni, Dolce et Gabanna, Marni, Anteprima and Prada. Modelling only since July 2010, Schimmel is currently being embraced for her androgynous appeal but I have no doubt that her undeniable beauty will not be overshadowed for long.

Fall/Winter 2011 New Faces Kate King

Canadian model Kate King was tipped by top casting agent Anita Bitton in the lead up to the Fall/Winter 2011 collections as one of the faces to watch. Seventeen year old King has more than lived up to industry expectations by amassing a list of blue chip shows including Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Marc Jacobs, Phillip Lim, Ports 1961, Diane Von Furstenburg, Cushnie et Ochs, Tommy Hilfiger, Prada and Emilio Pucci. Standing at 178 cm in height, King has a look that is exotic and modern. Of all the new models, King stands out to me the most with her long, languid limbs and a face that is mesmerisingly beautiful and relevant to modelling's current disposition toward distinctive faces. Represented by Elite Models in New York, King possesses a grace, presence and beauty that is reminiscent of Supermodel Christy Turlington.

Fall/Winter 2011 New Faces Bonnie Chen

A new wave of Asian models are redefining the industry's standards of beauty at the Fall/Winter 2011 shows. Chinese model Bonnie Chen was discovered at the age of sixteen in the Elite Model Look of the Year. Modelling only part-time during school holidays, Chen placed modelling on hold to pursue a degree in Psychology in the US. Now aged twenty one, Chen reveals in an interview with Pony Ryder that "My life changed after I entered college, I started to explore the international culture and understand fashion in a more intellectual level. I think my education has definitely helped me to re-identify myself in the fashion industry and shape my career in the longer term."

French native Aymeline Valade is part of a new breed of model whose personality, innate sense of style and obvious beauty combine with sublime results. Valade has dominated the Fall/Winter shows walking for Altuzarra, Rag & Bone, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Donna Karan, Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, D&G, Anteprima, Etro, Versace, Bottega Veneta, Emilio Pucci and Salvatore Ferragamo. Fall/Winter 2011 New Faces Roberta Narciso

Seventeen year old Angolan model Roberta Narciso was discovered in 2010 at the Elite Model Look of the Year Competition where she placed in the top fifteen finalists. Narciso made a stunning debut at the recent Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture shows in Paris, where she glided down the runways for Valentino and Bouchra Jarrar. Represented by Elite Models in Paris, Narciso's career is being guided with meticulous precision. Narciso skipped the New York and London show circuits, opting instead to make her Fall/Winter 2011 debut in Milan. The buzz generated has been worth the wait with Narciso walking for Prada, Albino, Brioni, Angelo Marani, Ermanno Scervino and Gareth Pugh. Standing at 181 cm in height with a face that is reminiscent of the legendary late Naomi Sims, Narciso could well be the next great pioneer for diversity in modelling. Next stop Paris!
