Worth the Wait

The September issue of US Vogue has finally landed on newsstands with the newly-wed Kate Moss gracing the cover in Alexander McQueen with an accompanying editorial feature on the nuptials. Moss looks every bit the radiant bride-to-be as she prepares to wed Jamie Hince in the Mario Testino lensed editorial. The mix of candid and posed shots have a poignant feel to them which is made all the more appropriate given that most of us have witnessed the evolution of Ms Moss since her days as a gangly sixteen year old on the cover of the Face. My favourite shot hands down of the editorial would have to be of Moss posing with her daughter Lila Grace, in what is surely one of the most beautiful images ever of this modelling icon.

A-List Talent

Lane Crawford, Hong Kong's premier specialist store enlists an impressive cast of top tier Asian models for its Fall/Winter 2011 campaign. Shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, the cast includes Liu Wen, Shu Pei Qin, Fei Fei Sun, Ming Xi and Xiao Wen Ju. Stylist Marie-Amélie Sauvé decks out the Asian beauties in luxury looks from Haider Ackermann, Azzedine Alaia, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Celine, Alexander McQueen and more. What I find most refreshing about this campaign is that the models are not depicted in a way which fetishises their ethnicity. Sauvé deserves major kudos for presenting Liu Wen et al. instead as modern day beauties with mass market appeal.
