Pint sized model Bambi Northwood-Blyth, is the latest Australian modelling export to hit the big time. Standing at only 170 cm in height, nineteen year old Northwood-Blyth recently made her international debut at the SS11 shows, walking for Jen Kao, Rag & Bone, Diesel, Balenciaga, Loewe, and Chanel.
Already an established model in Australia, Bambi's thick set brow, piercing blue eyes and tomboyish appeal have given her a look that is uniquely individual. In an industry inundated with pretty faces, it is Northwood-Blyth's overflow of personality and quirky sensibility which put her in the same ilk as models like Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee Kershaw. In an interview with the Cut, Northwood-Blyth gives an interesting take on herself, "I don't smoke dope, chew rope, dance, prance, romance, fight, fuck, shoot, or drive a truck."
Championed by LOVE Magazine's Katie Grand, Northwood-Blyth also did runway turns for Top Shop Unique, Giles and Emanuel Ungaro, shows all styled by Grand. In the same interview with the Cut, Northwood-Blyth describes "working with Grand as unreal and I got to do a a great mix of shows with her." Represented by Elite in New York, Northwood-Blyth has the looks, versatility and presence which with careful management and exposure, could translate into a career with true longevity.
